Blogger Awareness

I don't know if it's true, but I just stumbled onto a website that claimed that February was Blogger Awareness month. I feel completely crushed that I missed it. My heart is breaking and I wish I could use a flux capacitor to create this blog 4 days ago.

Discovering Awareness

Tonight as I was driving to dinner, I heard the NPR announcer (the local one... Scott Simon would never stoop to this level) remind the listeners that it was National Colorectal Cancer Awareness month. What the what? What a word :)

First of all, why do we need rectal awareness?

And, what other causes should we be aware of?

After much laughter and discussion we decided to make a list of how we would demonstrate awareness of all of the March Awareness Months.

Here goes:

  • Drink water on March 22nd
  • Donate to Red Cross
  • Sleep this month
  • Call a poison control company and thank them for their services
  • Read parenting tips night
  • Eat the healthiest and least tasty item we can think of
  • Depollute a puddle
  • Learn about seagrass
  • Blood thickening/thinning night (if we can't figure that out, we'll wander down a dark alleyway and wait to be attacked by a teenage vampire)
  • Ethics movie night
  • Caffeine tasting
  • Practice true listening skills
  • Be crafty (more like a potter than a fox)
  • Drink prune juice out of shot glasses
  • Eat peanut butter to excess
  • Thank the author of http://aware.easilyamused.org/ for writing such an awesome blog.
